THERE IS NO JULIUS GLOVSKY FANART ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET. THIS IS JUST WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. [[Julius Glovsky is a minor character in The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, a book by Michael Chabon. No, I'm not finished reading it yet. No, I'm not even halfway. But I've read enough to know that it's made of coolcakes smothered in awesomesauce.]] I DEMAND JULIE FANART, NOW. IN FACT, I WILL DRAW SOME MYSELF. YOU BET.

Laverne & Shirley sucked today. It's from the final season, where it's just Laverne because Shirley got married and went off and prolly had a kid. And Lenny isn't in it anymore, either. Squiggy makes rare appearances, but was only in the opening credits for today's episode. Oh well, I hope they start showing the first season once this one's over. Back to Milwaukee, please&thank-you!

I have been having trouble with defining my personal style. When I draw without reference, everything looks so amateur. I need to work on this. I think fanart should help. I miss being a fanart geek.

Forty minutes later and posting again. Oh jeezus. Anyways, back on the Watchmen thing. ADRIEN VEIDT AND ZIGGY STARDUST, WHOA, WHAT? *youtube* I CANNOT FIND THIS, IS IT MADE UP? BECAUSE THAT SOUNDS EPIC. I SHOULD NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WATCHMEN, GAH. BUT OZY IS FIERCE. Okay, Bowie thing is not made up, there is picture proof. I WANT TO SEE THIS PART, even though it's probably as stupid as the other parts I've seen. I am a hater. BUT IT IS OH SO LATE AND I AM OH SO AWAKE. WOW, WHY IS THE WATCHMEN THING HITTING ME IN THE FACE AT QUARTER AFTER TWO IN THE MORNING? I SHOULD REALLY BE ASLEEP. Oh yeah, and Dan Dreiberg has fab glasses. What a nerd. Owls, bah! OH NO, I KNOW THE NAMES OF TWO WATCHMEN CHARACTERS, THIS IS GETTING TO BE SRS BZNS. YES, YOU HEARD ME. I SAID SRS BZNS. IT IS TOO LATE FOR VOWELS NOW, BOY. OH MY GOD, I HAVE TO GO TO SLEEP RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOWWWWWW.

DUMBFISHIE ON DEVART MAKES ME SO SO SO HAPPY. I love the way she draws, I wish I could do arts like her. She was doing a bunch of Watchmen fanart, and it made me want to watch the movie, even though I hate superhero moviesw. So I watched some clips on youtube. Throughout every one I kept thinking "THIS IS SO STOOPID, more Ozymandias plz." So I'll just stick to her pretty drawings.

I finished my drawing today. It only took 17 and 1/2 hours to complete. Dx My knees are completely bruised (I assume my backside is worse for the wear as well), my arms and face are tanned but nothing else, my fingernails are basically black at the edges, my neck hurts, my arms hurt, and I'm super duper tired. But it was all worth it. My drawing of tigers coming out of a fish ended up being more impressive than I thought it would be. I'm happy to say I was not the worst one there. =] I was by no means the best; someone did The Birth of Venus, another did a foetus in a hole, and there were two connected drawings that made up the yellow submarine! And the Sistine Chapel, now finished, looks incredible. I hate to know that it's all going to be washed away tomorrow afternoon. The awards ceremony takes place tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. I know that I got at least one vote from an artist and five votes from the public. Four of those five votes were from my parents.

Oh, I saw Mr French this morning! He came by with his daughters to look at the drawings. I saw his feet but didn't look up from my work because I didn't know it was him, but then he said something and I was all "MR FRENCH!" and whatnot. It was pretty fab. But nobody else I knew came by. Yeah, thanks a lot for coming to see my drawing, "friends". I could use stronger language to convey the bitterness I feel towards all of you right now, but I will not. There's still time to get back on my good side, though. Theresa, you are exempt.

AND WHO ELSE HAS SEEN THE TAKING WOODSTOCK TRAILER ON TV? I AM SO PSYCHED FOR IT!

My chalk drawing has thus far been described by passers-by as "incredible", "skillful", "amazing", and "sick". =D The latter was actually the most-used term. I started at 9 in the morning, took a half hour break for lunch, and got picked up by my parents at 6:30 p.m. My drawing is sick.

Daddy just came home with pizza. =D

OH YAY! Google [images] "Dali elephant" and go to page 8. My chalk drawing is there. =D I feel so special.

I think I'll do a collage-y type thing of bits of surreal paintings, because I can't decide on one for Imadon. It'll have an elephant and a door with a hole in it and a bust with shades and a monster and whatever else I can find to stick in it. I haven't got much time to plan it out. The meeting is in an hour, tomorrow I volunteer, and then it starts. Ohhh yes.

To any and all Radiohead fans -- go listen to Clinic. Thou shalt not be disappointed. They wear surgical masks.

Drew the Yeah Yeah Yeahs today, since I had the day off from painting. Today was so wonderfully slack, I don't want to go back to the walls. Ever. I think I've made enough money by now... Around $60 if I added up correctly. I can put it all in my bank and forget about it, and sleep in until noon every day! I'll have more drawing time, more TCM time (haven't watched a movie in an unholy amount of time), more Last.fm time (yep, joined it yesterday), more blogging time... More time to watse, in general. It sounds quite glorious. But Imadon is coming up, and I have to be there by 8:30 a.m. for the first day. Silly mornings.

I just remembered that my dad is at a funeral. I don't know who it was that died.

Oh wow, I'm getting a laptop. =) To share with the rest of my family, mind you. My dad and I went to Wal-Mart last night to look at computers and decided we wanted a laptop. We took Mummy to Wal-Mart today to have a look, and now we just have to decide which one we want. It's pretty sad -- our desktop has 382MB of RAM and 28.6GB on the hard drive. The lappie we were looking at had 4GB of RAM and 160 on the hard drive. xD Our desktop is old, old, old!

I worked for SEVEN hours on painting today. And I did a pretty awful paint job, too. But now that Gamma-Minus is paid off, I've made a grand total of $28 so far. Daddy's going to help me paint the kitchen tomorrow, and on Sunday we will visit Nikki. Her friend's grandma is Alex James' neighbour! Isn't that fantabulous? She's eaten his cheese! And she went to the Blur reunion concert. Lucky. Nikki is reading A Bit of A Blur, which is actually on my list of books to read, so I want to flip through it. At least the pictures, anyway. And I'll show her our lappie if we've got it by then (Mummy doesn't have to write her test until next weekend) and it'll be fab.

...I can't believe Madi has eaten Alex James' cheese!

My parents want to get a new computer. I want a Mac, my mum wants something cheap (in other words, a PC), and my dad wants a cheap Mac. Cheap Macs are virtually non-existent, however. And we need to make a decision before my mum writes her test this weekend, which requires a computer. Ours has about 200MB of hard drive left, so it's super slow, which won't be good for writing a test. There's a person selling a Mac on Kijiji for $800, but my mum is skeptical. Whatever. As long as we get another computer, I'll be happy. This one's seven years old and will most likely be going in my room when the new one comes along. =D

OHMAGOSHANOWAY, Ben Gibbard and Zooey Deschanel are engaged. 8D That's my two celebrity gossip cents, even though it's about 8 months old.

Painting is so boring. And I pretty much suck at it. The walls are the colour of clay, which has grown on me (maybe due to the paint fumes), and I've only done two. It's taken 13 and 1/2 hours to do those two walls, though. I've still the kitchen, the dining room, the big wall, the small wall, the entrance hall, the entrance-to-the-basement hall, and the entrance-to-the-garage-and-bathroom hall.

I watched a show about child geniuses last night and it made me feel really stupid. =c They were thirteen and speaking Anglo-Saxon. But I have better social skills than they do (WOW, how is that possible?), so that made me feel a bit better. Those silly geeks.

Oh dear, I really need to do something. Something productive. After printing out my Imadon stuff today, I'm EXCITED and want to think of a superfab idea that'll win me as many prizes as I can. But the prize themes all suck. There's Artists' Choice, People's Choice, Best Use of Medium, Best Graffiti Art, Best Anime, Best Religious Theme, Best Representation of Cultural Diversity, and Best In Show. I know I'm not going to be the best artist there, but I don't want to do a religious themed graffiti anime drawing that shows cultural diversity. I want to draw a head wearing shades with a fish at the side. Or a door with a hole in it. Or a little monster screaming. I wish I hadn't used the Dali elephant as practice. It was attention-catching, creative, detailed yet simple, and gear-fab. And I want to buy a pair of overalls so that I look and feel like an artist when Imadon comes around.

Enough of that. I discovered podcasts on iTunes today and got a bunch of Flight of the Conchords stuff. It's all free! Yay! But it isn't compatible with my iPod, which pretty much blows. Oh well. Maybe I'll find a way to convert it throuch Zamzar or soemthing like that.

Nikki leaves in three days. =( Then I have to paint the house and I'll be bored stupid. AND Lenny & Squiggy haven't made an appearance in the last few episodes of Laverne&Shirley. Nothing interesting has been on TCM or AMC. There is no juice in the house. Only popsicles. Lovely, lovely popsicles.

Think about it. Alright.

In the time since my last entry, I've been to Bayfest, played with Gamma-Minus for endless hours, watched Flight of the Conchords, considered things to do for Imadon, and a few forgettable things. Bayfest was rad. I went with my bestie and her family. If it hadn't gotten so cold it would've been more enjoyable. Still, another ticket to throw onto the pile.

I've got three choices of things to base my chalk drawing on so far. They're all surrealist paintings, which I find look quite nice reproduced in chalk on the street. One is by Francis Bacon; it's very simple and very red, so I like it. Another is by Giorgio de Chirico; I want to try chalking a face. The last is by Rene Magritte; it's also pretty simple. Imadon is coming right up, and I'm very excited.

500 Days of Summer comes out this Friady. =] Yay for Zooey Deschanel movies!

I GOT AN IPOD! He's orange and anorexic and his name is Gamma-Minus. I'll be able to plug him in and sync all my loverly tunage onto him once the 1247 .wma format songs finish converting. Being completely new to the whole iTunes business, I've been puzzling myself over how it works for the last two hours. But Gamma-Minus came with three games. I only know how to play one of them ("Maze") but it's fun. Now he's out of batteries (basically) and I'm just waiting for all those songs to convert. But he's lovely, and he came in a fab little case. My sister got a blue one (now we have complementary colour iPods), but she hasn't named it yet. We aren't sure which gender it is at this moment. Oh, now she's decided it's name is Spingie Jemima. =] It's a hermaphrodite. Three cheers for everything! Yai!

I'm back from vacation in Darien Lake! Located somewhere in the state of New York, Darien Lake is an amusement park with a confusing layout and one of the top 10 roller coasters in the US, I think. I'm guessing it was the Ride of Steel, because, according to a sign advertising Perry's ice cream, the drop is 208 feet. It's nearly vertical, too, and there are lots of whirlies and your backside is hardly ever in your seat. I rode it six times. There was also a wooden roller coaster that I went on seven-ish times, and it always gave me a headache after because it was so bumpy and loud. Another roller coaster called the Boomerang was very loopy and fun. Yet another was one of the ones that attach to the railing from the top and your feet are dangling. It was really out of the way, so I only went on it about three times. The "Viper" was green and, although it was fun, there wasn't anything very special about it. Another roller coaster had everyone sitting on motorbike-type seats, and it looked really lame until I actually went on it. It's much faster than it looks. There were other rides, of course; a big ferris wheel, a log ride, bumper cars, swingy things, etc. I went on most of the rides. But OH! There was a yellow submarine ride for kids that went up and down, and I got in line but then the lady said I was too tall to ride it. Dx And it looked like so much fun, too.

Besides the regular park, there was a water park. Since it rained every day we were in Darien Lake, we spent a grand total of about half an hour there. There was this one really fab waterslide that dropped you into a giant funnel. There were also some live shows, but after we saw this thing called Rocknation, we decided not to see any more. As soon as the announcer said that there was going to be a lot of headbanging, I knew there wasn't going to be a lot of headbanging. Although, we did see a laser show, and it was cool. It was raining, and they had smoke machines, so the lasers looked glittery and neato burrito. I found a Flight of the Conchords poster in one of the shops... so I bought it. I'm flattening it out right now so I can put it on my door.

After we left the park (two and a half days there... my legs HURT afterwards), mummmy wanted to go shopping, so we stopped at a mall. My fam left me asleep in the van and bought me a pretty shirt. However, waking up alone freaked me out a bit. They came back for me after a little while, and we found a Converse store with THREE BIG SHELVES on clearance. I ended up getting a pair of Grateful Dead ones and off-white ones. My sister got her very first pair of Cons, too, and they're lovely. If her feet weren't so enormous, I'd make her share them with me. We also found a fab store with a name that i forget, and I bought a backpack because I need one. My sister got the same backpack.

We got home at around 10 last night, just in time for me to catch the ending of Wayne's World 2. Pictures of the trip and my lovely new stuff soon, possibly.

Ohoho! I'm sitting in class right now, but since I've finished my in-class exam (which was very easy) I'm free to do whatever. I should've brought Opal's cord so that I could charge her and put some more music on her... I put some more Monkees songs on her last night. I particularly like Salesman and Going Down.

Three more days of class left! My Civics exam has been changed to in-class, so I'll be writing it tomorrow. I don't mind; now I only have two exams on the exam days to worry about. I certainly am worrying about them, Math in particular. I highly doubt I'll make Honours this year. In fact, as long as I've got Math weighing me down, I don't think I'll make it next year, either. Oh well, I'll try to be optimistic and I'll study until my eyes fall out. Or, more likely, I'll study for a little while, give up, and go to sleep.

I'd like to visit OLI this year after exams again. However, I have to confirm it with Theresa before I go e-mailing Mr. T and tell him to expect us.

Taking Woodstock is coming out in 59 days! When I think about it, that means summer holidays are around 70ish days long. =|
